Login Problems

First let me say how proud and pleased I am with parents and students. I appreciate your questions and comments. We may be separated, but the best way to keep the students growing is through communication.
I am so proud of the students that have started to work the assignments. That is the way to do this--a day at a time. The students that have not started yet or going to have a tougher time because the assignments won't go away until they do the work. I WANT TO GIVE A GIANT SHOUT OUT TO CAYDEN AND KYNLEE!!!! You two are tearing it up and scooting ahead. Good for you!
BIG REMINDER--YOU SHOULD HAVE A LIST OF MOST OF YOUR LOG IN INFORMATION ON A SHEET IN YOUR RED FOLDER.
  •      I am making notes of the problems you are having logging in. This will help me make decisions about the assignments for next week. Let me offer some solutions that may help:
  • Go through the internet--silk, chrome, or firefox to get to my website. Use the links from the first and second page to get to the programs you want to use.
  • Pearsonrealize hates Firefox. I don't know why. The best way to log in is to use Chrome as the browser. Also, remember that your password is the word password followed by your 4-digit number.
  • Math Facts in a Flash hates Chrome. If you want to use Chrome, you will need to have a parent remove the popup blocker (through settings). If you do not allow popups, it is going to say that you are already logged in. Firefox likes Math Facts in a Flash so use that as your browser.
  • Remember how I had to change browsers at school? Your best bet is to go to Google and either type in Chrome or Firefox and click on the site. Your parent may have to download the browser. After that you can switch back and forth...especially if you put a shortcut on the desktop.
  • Your parent may find it helpful to download some apps. I download my website to an app to make it easier to use on my phone.
  • Edmentum--I tried it on both browsers on an old laptop, a new laptop, and a tablet. I had trouble getting to it on an old laptop. My advice is to try different browsers. Also, don't forget you have to enter ccsd3.5 then your username...for most of you that is your first initial and last name--no middle initial. Most of you have 1234 as your password. If that doesn't work, use your regular 4-digit number.
  • Zearn--if you can't get in, have your parent write me a note on Remind and I will send it to you.
  • Epic--you will have the enter the code. I have added it to the front page with the address to make it easier to remember. Also, don't forget that you can take an AR quiz on the books.
Depending on your responses (and concerns from your parents), I can make changes. Also, when you finish your work try out some of the websites on the second page. You will have to use special user names and passwords for brainpopjr. and scholastic, but they are listed right under the link to make it easier for you. Try them out and let me know what you think.

Many of the students are having trouble working in Math Facts in a Flash because Pop-up blockers are turned on. Here is a list of instructions for different browsers that may help you to get the "blockers" turned off!

If you choose to only allow pop-ups from the Renaissance site, you will need to enter the web address...the correct web address for our school is:

hosted267.renlearn.com/78889

Internet Explorer

1) Open Internet Explorer.

2) Click on the Tools Menu, then Internet Options.

3) Click on the Privacy tab.

4) Under the Pop-up Blocker section, remove the check from Turn on Pop-up Blocker or click on [Settings] and add your Renaissance website to the list of allowed sites.

5) Click [Close], then [OK].

Firefox

1) Open Firefox.

2) Click on the Firefox Menu (3 horizontal lines displayed as ), then select Options.

3) Select the Privacy & Security panel and go to the Permissions section.

4) Either uncheck the option to Block pop-up windows or click on [Exceptions] and add your Renaissance site as an exception.

5) Click [Save Changes].

Chrome

1) Open Chrome.

2) Click on the icon to Customize and control Google Chrome (3 vertically stacked dots), then click on Settings.

3) Click on "Advanced" at the bottom of the page to show the advanced settings.

4) Under Privacy and security, click on "Site Settings", then locate the "Pop-ups and redirects" section and click it.

5) If it shows "Blocked (recommended)", you can either click on that to change popups to be "Allowed" for all sites, or click [Add] next to the "Allow" section to add your Renaissance site as an exception.

Hope this information is helpful!

Ms. Robinson it's nice that you encourage your students but I do not appreciate that you call them out by name unless you call every student doing their work by name. I dont know how all the students are affected but I know my child questions what she is doing wrong when she is trying to do her work and reveives no recognition to these same students. If you cant recognize all your students trying to do their best please dont recognize anyone al all. Thank you your corporation.

Oh my goodness, I hope I have not discouraged anyone. Perhaps your child did not read these sentences:

I recognized Cayden and Kynlee because they are the furthest ahead in completing their assignments. It is my plan to recognize the children who are staying on top of their daily work. It is my hope that their parents will perhaps give them an extra privilege or something. This is new and challenging for all of us.

I know I have told the students and parents that I adore every child in this class. This is such a great group of students and parents that it helped me realize it is time to retire. I wanted to go out with the joy this class has given me filling my heart.
