It has been hard to be queen of the island this year. I have to change my blog so that comments must be approved before they can be posted. I created this website and blog so that my students could learn how to use the internet in a good way. Instead, I have seen some ugly things.
So far this year several things that we enjoy have been taken away. We loved listening to music and someone stole my nano i-pod. I worked really hard to get computers for my class to use and students tore up about 20 headphones. I make sure and provide time for computers to learn in a fun way, but some students play and cut up. This ruins it for all of us.
Trying to teach this year is hard due to students who do not mind me. I am frustrated....and dissapointed.
I can't seem to make this class understand that the less they mind me, the less time there is for fun things. If I have to spend money replacing items, there is less money to spend for rewards, games, etc.
I am a sad teacher right now. This is not the way I want to feel during the time of year when I am usually am most in love with my students.
I am most sad for students that are really trying to pay attention, follow my directions, and learn. I'll bet they feel like I do. We are going to need to come up with a way to honor these students. It seems to me that school should be for students who want to learn. Perhaps the students who can't be respectful and kind need to have a lot of pencil to paper work instead of
